Privacy Policy

Privacy? You don’t have it. In case you didn’t notice, we have an income tax. An income tax requires the government to gather reams of intimate financial data on all businesses. And if an income tax is used to give the needy a break or nudge people into approved lifestyles, the government needs to gather yet more data on every resident’s personal life. And it does.

Oh, you want this web site’s privacy policy?

Ah yes, spammers can be even more annoying than the IRS. And unlike the government spammers provide no service in return for the time taken, unless you really want some fake v1agra or to go into business with Nigerian entrepreneurs. Point taken. So we’ll take full precautions to keep your email addresses from spammers. And we won’t spam. We don’t even have an email newsletter to spam you with. (And if we ever got active enough to add one, we’ll set up a proper double opt-in system and you will have to make the first move to get on.)

We do, however, believe in one-on-one contact when appropriate. If you send us an email, you may get a follow up — addressed to you, just like in the days of handwritten letters. And there is a small chance that a particularly interesting blog comment could trigger such a personal note — if you provide a real address to the WordPress form. (If you provide a fake one, then you have no way to take ownership of a comment.)

The Data We Gather

We use StatCounter. Go to their web site to see what evil information they gather and what kind of reports they provide for us — and thousands of other web sites. We use it mainly to see which articles are interesting to readers and which other web sites bring us traffic.

As already mentioned, WordPress requires an email address for making comments. This allows you to claim a comment as your own should you wish to repeal or edit it later. It also allows us to do a follow up if we think someone is impersonating someone else. And, it is remotely possible that a particularly interesting comment deserves a personal follow-up, so we reserve the right to do so just in case.

If you wish to become an author at Tax Help USA, we will need to establish email contact. We are not opening up the blog to just anyone, so no automated sign-up for this purpose.
