Americans need help with their taxes. They lose hair sweating over heaps of ridiculously complicated tax forms. They lose sleep wondering if they filled the forms correctly, if they read the rules right, or if an agonizing audit is in their future. They lose money paying high-priced accountants and lawyers do fill the tax forms for them.
American taxpayers lose more money yet living in an economy strangled with red tape. They pay the welfare checks of those who could work, if only employing a single unskilled worker didn't require a master's degree in paperwork. They pay for bailouts of corporations and individuals rendered reckless by IRS incentives. (Do not blame the Federal Reserve for the current recession. The tax code is the real culprit.)
America as a whole needs help. We are on the way to becoming a has-been second-rate power, deep in debt and nostalgic for our past greatness. Asia educates engineers while we educate lawyers, paper-shufflers and financial wizards whose main skills are gaming the system and selling our seed corn. The system is not sustainable. A bigger crash is coming.
Help is on the way! Here at Tax Help USA we shall slice the Gordian Knot which is our tax code. We shall uncover simple ways to simplify the tax code. A tweak here and a tweak there and many of the headaches go away. We can do much without an entire rewrite. You need not like everything written here. Just find the tweaks you like and inform your friendly politicians and many problems solved!
The solutions herein will not be perfect, however. This is no time for utopian dreaming or arguing what should have been. The patient is bleeding. It's Band Aid time for the USA!
It is also not time for tax cuts, alas. Deficits are scary, fall-of-empire high. National bankruptcy looms. You could add a hundred Ron Paul clones to the U.S. House and still need to keep taxes high or even raise them higher to deal with debts already incurred and baby-boomers ready to retire.
But at least we can make those high taxes easier to pay -- and more fair. Liberals take note: this site is not some sneaky right-wing front to give tax breaks to the already rich. On the contrary, the ideas on this site will be quite progressive, more so than the current loophole-ridden tax code, or the misnamed Fair Tax, which favors the ultra rich at the expense of the upper middle class. The ideas on this site are liberal compatible.
But they are also conservative compatible. They will restore American industry and American economic competitiveness. They will reward prudence and reduce the siren song of welfare dependency.
They are eco-compatible. They favor community over excess consumerism, pollution taxes over prosperity taxes.
And yes, the ideas here are somewhat libertarian compatible. They make taxes simpler and bring us closer to fee-for-service government.
Important note: this site contains long term tax help for America. If you are having problems with the current system, get help from an accountant or tax lawyer. Then come back here and bring your political friends with you so you won't need professional help next time around.
